Fortnite Players Can Now Stream Gameplay While Hanging Out In Houseparty
Epic Games has announced that Fortnite players are now able to stream gameplay in Houseparty while they chat with friends. For those who are unfamiliar, the Houseparty app allows users to add friends, video chat in a group, play games, and more. The social platform grew in popularity last year at the height of the pandemic as people around the globe virtually connected with friends and family. In November, Fortnite brought Houseparty to the battle royale, allowing players to video chat with friends while playing the game.
Fortnite Season 6 Adds Tameable Raptors To The Island
Fortnite has taken its Houseparty functionality a step further by adding streams, according to Epic Games. Now, rather than just showing their faces on camera, players can simultaneously stream their Fortnite gaming sessions to their Houseparty video call. Simply launch Fortnite Mode in Houseparty to start streaming; your friends will be notified when you begin your stream. During a stream, your friends will appear on the side of the screen to avoid disrupting gameplay. "It’s the perfect way to bring the fun of in-person gaming to playing together remotely!" Epic Games said in the announcement.
Please note that in order to stream Fortnite in Houseparty, players will need either an iOS or Android device, as well as a PC, PlayStation 4, or PlayStation 5. In the Houseparty mobile app, it's important to make sure that the user's Epic Games account is connected in order to access Fortnite video chat. If players would rather skip streaming while they video chat, they can disable streaming in Fortnite Mode's privacy settings. This way, gamers can still video chat with friends via Houseparty, but others won't see their gameplay screen.
