IPL 2021: Jofra Archer Gives Befitting Reply to Controversial Bangladeshi Author Taslima Nasreen’s ISIS Comment Against CSK’s Moeen Ali Following Jersey Row
English all-rounder Jofra Archer has jumped to teammate Moeen Ali’s defense after controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen’s sharp comment on the CSK player. Ahead of the IPL, CSK’s new recruit Ali reportedly requested the management to not feature an alcohol brand on his jersey as he practices Muslim.
Archer lashed out at Taslima and reckoned she was out of her mind and hence asked if she was doing okay.
“If Moeen Ali were not stuck with cricket, he would have gone to Syria to join ISIS,” Nasreen wrote, inviting criticism from the cricket fraternity.
Archer responded by wondering what was wrong with the author. “Are you okay ? I don’t think you’re okay,” Archer said while quoting Nasreen’s tweet.

The convo did not end there.
In a bid to defend her stance on Moeen Ali, Taslima said it was sarcastic and her detractors used it against her.
“Haters know very well that my Moeen Ali tweet was sarcastic. But they made that an issue to humiliate me because I try to secularize Muslim society & I oppose Islamic fanaticism. One of the greatest tragedies of humankind is pro-women leftists support anti-women Islamists,” Nasreen said in another social media post.
Archer responded to the explanation as well, saying he was not willing to buy into it.
“Sarcastic? No one is laughing, not even yourself, the least you can do is delete the tweet,” Archer said.

In the past, Archer – who recently pulled out of the IPL due to an injury – has also been subject to racist abuse and hence knows the pain of what it feels like.
