[Men's Soccer] Tigers start postseason in Portsmouth
Georgetown College men's soccer opens postseason play Thursday as the nine seed in the Mid-South Conference Tournament. Seeds five through 12 must play in opening round games with the lower seeds traveling to the higher seed.
With this past Saturday's 2-0 loss to No. 14 Lindsey Wilson College, the Tigers (4-6-3) hit the road to play eighth-seeded Shawnee State University. The pair tied during the regular season – a Feb. 23 game in Georgetown. Jake McKettrick scored in the first 15 minutes for GC in that game, but just before half the Bears (5-5-3) knotted it up. The second 45 minutes and subsequently the two 10-minute overtime periods were a draw, leading to a 1-1 finish.
