How Oddworld: Soulstorm's Multiple Endings Work | Screen Rant

As the newest entry in the Oddworld series, Oddworld: Soulstorm once again returns players to Abe's adventures. Oddworld Inhabitants, the developers behind the series, announced the game would have multiple endings when it arrives ahead of its being a free title for PlayStation Plus this month. These endings depend on how efficiently players rescue Mukudons - the race of Abe and many other Oddworld heroes. Here's everything fans should know about the way Oddworld: Soulstorm's multiple endings work.

Despite a number of apparent delays, Oddworld: Soulstorm was confirmed for an April release date only a couple of months ago. It's been a while since a new mainline entry arrived, so fans are understandably excited - especially considering Soulstorm once again follows original protagonist Abe. The new game has been teased as a darker and slightly more serious entry in the usually quirky (and even slapstick) series, which means players will probably want to get the happiest ending possible.

Despite taking nearly twenty years to arrive, Oddworld: Soulstorm is the game many players have wanted since finishing up those earlier games starring Abe. At launch, Soulstorm will have four possible endings - although reaching the Final Ending will certainly take a bit of work. For those looking to get the best ending available, here's everything to keep in mind.

The endings are all based on how many Mukodons players rescue in each level. If players save 80% of Mukodons in six levels or fewer, they'll get the Worst Ending. If 80% are saved in seven to eleven levels, then they'll only get the Bad Ending, which is being teased as having an "explosive" cinematic. In order to get the Good Ending, players will have to rescue 80% of Mukodons in 12 or more levels. This will also unlock the game's last two levels and an additional cinematic.

If players unlock the last two levels and manage to rescue at least 80% of Mukodons in all 17 levels of Oddworld: Soulstorm, they'll unlock the so-called "newspaper cinematic" and the game's Final Ending. This will probably take quite a bit of work to accomplish, but players with PS Plus will be able to play Soulstorm for free right now, since the game is available to all subscribers during April.

Overall, Oddworld: Soulstorm looks like the follow up to Abe's story that fans have wanted for a long time. For those looking to unlock the game's best ending, it will certainly take a bit of work - but it should be worth the effort.
