Mum charged with murder of five-year-old daughter in London home
The mother of a five-year-old girl found dead at a home in West Ealing has been charged with murder.
Martina Madarova, 41, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today over the death of Aijah Thomas.
Aijah’s body was found after emergency services were called to a property in Leyborne Avenue on Tuesday following concerns for the welfare of the occupants.
An ambulance crew tried to save the little girl but she was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 1pm.
Aijah’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A neighbour described the victim as ‘a lovely little girl’ who was ‘always well dressed and looked after’.
The witness told Mail Online she saw a couple being questioned outside the house where the girl’s body was found.
Aijah’s cause of death has not been confirmed and a post-mortem has been scheduled for later today.
A female suspect was taken into custody yesterday as photos from the scene showed a large cordon in place around a house on the residential street.
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
