Evelin Villegas has been blasted by 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way viewers for her lavish luxury wedding expectations to Corey Rathgeber, but it turns out that Evelin's wedding planner is not a scammer like fans theorized. When Evelin told Corey that the wedding could cost as much as $50,000, many viewers thought she was teaming up with the planner to cheat Corey. However, the revelation that Evelin’s wedding planner is, in fact, a celebrity planner has caused 90 Day Fiancé fans to instead blast Evelin for her lofty expectations.
Though American Corey has been trying to marry his Ecuadorian partner Evelin for some time now, Evelin has steadily insisted that she isn’t ready for marriage. Fans were therefore confused when Evelin suddenly decided that she wanted to have a luxury wedding that could cost up to $50,000. While fans initially speculated that Evelin was scamming Corey, the latest episode of The Other Way saw Evelin admitting to her sisters that she was already married to Corey.
U/BlackberryMaterial33 took to Reddit to share some insight about Evelin's wedding planner. "I found photos of the wedding that the wedding planner did of the Victoria secret angel in Ecuador... laughing out loud because who does Evelyn think she is that she deserves such a grand wedding?" the user shared. The images featured a jaw-dropping luxe wedding planned for Jasmine Tookes and Juan David Borrero, a wealthy celebrity couple. Jasmine is a celebrated model who worked for Victoria's Secret, while Juan is the son of Ecuador's Vice President. The couple's wedding, which was designed by the same wedding planner Evelin hired in Ecuador, was a stunning affair with full luxury.
90 Day Fiancé fans were shocked that Evelin would consider such a lavish wedding for herself. Another commenter mentioned that Cory could not even manage to afford a small percentage of this wedding's flower budget, let alone the entire wedding. Though the wedding planner's resume has proved that the $50,000 per wedding budget would actually be put to use, viewers still doubted Evelin's intentions. "Which makes me think she’s sabotaging him. Like this is a royal wedding almost. 'Normal people' can’t afford this," another comment wrote back. "That church is stunning! Evelin is insane, god knows what this wedding here cost? If he’s incapable of saying no to her for a wedding like this then he needs man up," another commenter ranted.
While Evelin might not be trying to scam Corey out of his money with her lavish wedding since it would actually go towards the ceremony, viewers are nonetheless perplexed as to where Evelin gets such luxurious ideas. The Other Way audiences have called Evelin out for having an inflated ego that potentially led to her thinking she could have such a grandiose celebration. Overall, Evelin has received a cold fan reception and has been named one of the top two 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3 villains thus far.
