RHOSLC: Why Heather Believes Jen's Business Is 'Unsavory'

Heather Gay from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is opening up about why she believes Jen Shah's business was "unsavory." During season 1, Jen confused viewers when it came to explaining her exact job role. Now, Heather is sharing that she may have had a bit of inside information that led her to believe the business wasn't on the up and up.

Jen was arrested back in March in front of the rest of the ladies from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The federal government has accused Jen of being the mastermind behind a telemarketing scheme along with her trusty assistant, Stuart Smith. Jen has been accused of selling lead lists that targeted elderly victims. If found guilty, she could spend years behind bars. Not all of the women are sold on her innocence, with some opening up about their opinions in the premiere episode.

On a brand-new Watch What Happens Live, Heather shared some pretty surprising news about her friend. Even though it has been six months since Jen was accused of money laundering and wire fraud, it seems Heather always had an inkling that Jen ran a shady side business. Host Andy Cohen seemed just as surprised as the rest of the viewers when Heather gave her honest opinion about the whole situation. The mother of three spoke out, saying, “I knew her business was unsavory when I was her friend, so why would I change now that it’s public?”

For ten years, the government has been alleging that Jen ran her scam and hurt hundreds in the process. While Heather admits to being confused about what kind of business Jen ran, she stood firm in saying she had no idea that what Jen was doing was illegal. At one point, Heather tried to play Nancy Drew when she hosted Jen on her podcast. She took time to ask Jen about her day-to-day life with the company. Still, after being left with more questions than answers, Heather shared that she never understood it and just assumed "it was something that was right along the line of nothing I’d want to be involved in.”

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers were left gobsmacked by Heather's remarks. Many feel uncomfortable with the thought of Heather not trying to be a whistleblower, as she could have saved hundreds from being scammed. Jen's trial is set for March of 2022 after being moved back from October. Jen pled not guilty in April. It seems likely Heather will continue to give her opinion on the matter going forward.
