Teck's C$1bn quarterly profit helped by steelmaking coal
Canadian diversified miner Teck Resources has posted record third-quarter results, helped by strong commodity prices, particularly for steelmaking coal.
Adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) was a record C$2.1-billion in the third quarter – more than triple the same period last year.
Profit attributable to shareholders was C$816-million, or $1.53 a share and adjusted profit attributable to shareholders was C$1-billion, or $1.91 a share, more than seven times higher than the same period last year.
