NY State rejects controversial power plant proposal in Astoria, Queens
NRG, a Houston-based power giant, had submitted an application to erect a fossil fuel-powered turbine generator just off Astoria’s waterfront, as a replacement for an oil-burning turbine generator that is due to exit service in 2023.
