Tottenham and England legend Sheringham expects ‘top professional’ Kane to stay settled at Spurs ahead of World Cup
TOTTENHAM and England legend Teddy Sheringham expects “top professional” Harry Kane to stay put this summer ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Kane was subject to bids from Premier League champions Manchester City last summer and had hoped of making the move.
But City were unable to agree terms with Spurs for the England captain and a deal failed to materialise.
After England’s Euro 2020 final heartbreak against Italy, Kane returned to the club and fired blanks in his first seven Premier League appearances.
A further six-game league goal drought followed after scoring and assisting in the October 3-2 win over Newcastle.
But since Antonio Conte’s November arrival, Kane has scored 15 and assisted seven, helping fire Spurs into the top four with a game to go.

And Tottenham and England legend Sheringham is tipping Kane to stay at the club beyond this summer as he’s back to being happy Harry again.
Speaking to SunSport ahead of a Masters football event in association with Bookmakers.com, Sheringham said on whether he expects Kane to stay: “I do, I do now, yeah. Last summer was very different to this summer.
“And I think things have changed at Tottenham. His body language has changed.
“Whether he has got accustomed to the whole situation or not, I don’t know.

“But looking at his body language and his demeanour now, I do think he will be staying at Tottenham.”
Sheringham also believes it will be important for Kane to be settled at club level in order to lead England into this year’s World Cup.
The Three Lions, excellently managed by Gareth Southgate, are looking to build on a World Cup semi and Euro final with the hope of going all the way.
Kane, of course, would be instrumental in England’s bid to win their first major tournament since the 1966 World Cup win.
Sheringham continued: “Yeah, of course [it’s important to be settled].
“If he had gone into a World Cup year the way he played at the start of the season there would be a lot of questions asked.
“I think he’s over that little part of his career – and it’s understandable as well.

“There was a lot of speculation and talk about it week in and week out about ‘is he going or is he not’.
“I think he has fully proven that he’s a top, top professional.”
