Brits told to avoid baths, use less water in kettles and only do full laundry loads as hot weather returns
BRITS are being urged to avoid baths in a bid to avoid a hosepipe ban as scorching weather arrives this month.
Water bosses are advising people to also put less water in their kettles and only do full loads of laundry.
It comes as temperatures are set to soar to 35C amid a ten-day heatwave.
The Environment Agency said: “People should use water wisely and follow advice from their suppliers.
“Further hot, dry weather could put pressure on some areas. We will continue to take action where necessary.
“River flows and reservoir levels have receded across central and south western England.”

Water companies are also Brits to be more mindful of their consumption over the summer.
Anglian Water has urged residents use “every space” in the dishwasher before putting it on.
And Scottish Water said people should “fill the kettle with only the water you need to help protect a precious resource by saving water”.
While water regulator Ofwat advised: “If possible, take a shower instead of a bath. A five-minute shower uses half the volume of a bath.

“Wait until you have a full load before using your washing machine or dishwasher.”
The last official hosepipe ban came in 2018 affecting up to 7million homes.
It came as Britain enjoyed its longest heatwave in 42 years with temperatures regularly soaring over 30C.
There were fears taps would remain dry in 2020 during the first lockdown following the driest May in 124 years.
Forecasters predict temperatures in the UK will rocket by July 15.
The highest ever UK temperature was 38.7C, recorded in Cambridge on 25 July 2019, beating the previous record of 38.5C in Faversham in August 2003.
