CAGED gun killer Jamie Bain has been slashed behind bars after being labelled a grass.
We can reveal the pub shooter, 38, was targeted by a fellow con at Perth nick.
Bain is serving 22 years for the 2006 murder of ex-boxer Alexander McKinnon, 32, at the Marmion bar in Gracemount, Edinburgh.
Underworld sources say the hit was ordered by a crime boss who blames Bain for snitching on an associate.
A source said: “The guy took his chance and lunged at Bain.
“He was left with two pretty bad cuts to his face but refused any treatment.
“A lot of cons are annoyed that he gets to sit in the the main hall despite being a known snitch.
“Bain is constantly looking over his shoulder now.”
During his murder trial Bain nodded his head indicating who attacked him after the shooting.
A copy of a statement Bain made to cops is also in circulation. In it he blabbed who was behind the gangland execution of Euan “EJ” Johnstone.

Bain has previously said that where he is from being a grass is just as bad as being a paedo.
But the insider said: “There’s a street code that you don’t give names but he’s been happy to break it.
“He also tipped off cops about a guy who was keeping a gun for his crew on the outside.
“He then gets raided and low and behold a close close relative’s sentence gets cut.
“You don’t need to be Columbo to figure out what’s been going on.
“He sings like a canary.”
We told how Bain was petrified of being attacked by EJ’s killer and gangland thug David Togher after they were moved to HMP Grampian.
It saw Bain moved to the Perth jail where the attack happened two weeks ago.
Gunman Bain opened fire with a sawn-off shotgun in the Edinburgh pub in 2006.
He killed boxer Alexander and left his brother-in-law James Hendry fighting for life after the horror boozer attack.
The Scottish Prison Service said: “We do not comment on individual prisoners.”
