Tri-City ValleyCats' Denis Phipps hotter than the weather
Denis Phipps slugged six homers over three games - two apiece last Sunday, Friday and Saturday, interrupted by the Frontier League All-Star break - to break his own franchise record with 22 homers this season. He led the league in homers and RBI (62).
In July, Phipps was batting .469 (30 of 64) with 13 homers and 35 RBI in 18 games entering Sunday.
