Thankfully it’s easy to update your iPhone and fix these problems in seconds.

It’s a good idea to install iOS updates as soon as possible.

For a start, they generally introduce fancy new features for you to enjoy.

But they often include security updates that fix bugs that hackers can exploit.

Apple closes these holes so that crooks can’t take advantage of them to compromise your device, accounts or logins.

Updating your iPhone is the only way to get these security fixes.

They’re totally free and usually only take minutes to install.

And they could save you from significant attacks down the line.

How to update your iPhone

First, make sure your iPhone is backed up over iCloud.

Then go to Settings > General and choose Software Update.

Now select the software update to install it.

The update may already have downloaded. If not, you’ll need to download it first.

Then enter your passcode and tap Install Now.

If you’re running iOS 15.6 then you’re using the latest software version.

This gives you the best protection against any hack attacks.

Of course, it’s not foolproof.

You should still be wary of different hacking methods, including scam “phishing” emails, suspicious WhatsApp messages, unexpected iMessage links and more.
