Report: Some Spurs stars had to look away as Skipp suffered ‘nasty deep cut’
Football.London have revealed that Oliver Skipp is unlikely to be available to face Southampton in Tottenham’s Premier League season opener on Saturday.
Skipp would have been hoping to hit the ground running in 2022/23 after missing almost the entirety of the second half of last season due to a pelvic problem.
However, unfortunately for the 21-year-old, he sustained a foot injury during pre-season training, which meant he missed the club’s friendlies against Rangers and AS Roma.
Football.London have now explained the nature of the injury that Skipp sustained at Hotspur Way a couple of weeks ago.
The report reveals that the midfielder sustained a ‘nasty deep cut’ on his foot from an accidental stud impact in training, which required a lot of stitches.
The impact allegedly shook some Spurs players, with some having to look away due to the unpleasant nature of the cut.
With Skipp’s foot continuing to heal from the injury, the England Under-21 international is not expected to play any part against the Saints.

Skipp has been extremely unfortunate with injuries since Conte arrived and has impressed every time he has played. However, the fact that the midfielder has only sustained a cut on his foot instead of it being something muscular, suggests that he should be back in action sooner rather than later.
