Grandad, 87, goes viral after rating his granddaughter’s potential wedding guest outfits in the most honest way
IF you’re struggling to choose an outfit for a special occasion, it’s usually a good idea to speak to a friend for advice.
But in Sabrina Carder’s case, she chose to turn to her 87-year-old grandfather – affectionately known as ‘Pap’ – to try and narrow down an ensemble for a friend’s wedding.
“My 87-year-old grandpa rates my wedding guest dress options,” she wrote over her video on TikTok.
First, they began with a green and white floral number, with her grandfather saying: “Oh no”.
“Not that one?” Sabrina asked, to which Pap said, “No”.
Next, she showed him a picture of herself wearing a long-sleeved bottle green number, with him declaring it was a “maybe”.

A red dress was third up, with Sabrina asking: “Can I wear red to a wedding?”
“Yes, course you can,” said her granddad.
A pink floral number was labelled “quite nice”, while a bright floral one also didn’t make the cut.
He then asked to see the red one again.

“Yeah I like that one,” he smiled.
Sabrina then showed him a picture of her in a green and gold dress, with him replying: “Different, that is different”.
“By this point he was so invested he put his glasses on”, Sabrina wrote.
Next was a colourful pastel number, followed by another green dress, to which Pap said: “That’s smart. I mean, I…. it’s not as dynamic as that red one.”
To a black floral dress, he said that it was “very dynamic”.
“I’ll take that as a no,” Sabrina laughed.

A purple dress was next up for consideration, to which he said: “That is smart, very smart, but I’m not sure about it for the wedding.”
The pair then returned to the red dress, with Pap declaring: “That one I think is really nice, I think it’s really nice.”
Sharing her video on TikTok, Sabrina captioned it: “Pap wanted to help me choose a dress! (side note: I’ve never heard him use the word ‘dynamic’ before in my life).”
“He’s taking this so seriously. This is the absolute cutest thing,” one person commented on the video.
While another added: “Your grandpa has the right idea!! Red is the best!”
