Anna Kendrick to Make Directorial Debut with True-Life Thriller 'The Dating Game'
Anna Kendrick is taking on an exciting new project.
THR writes that the 37-year-old Pitch Perfect actress is set to make her directorial debut with The Dating Game, a stranger-than-fiction true story based on the life of Cheryl Bradshaw.
The outlet adds that Anna will also star in and produce the feature.

THR writes that the film will tell the story of Cheryl‘s time as a bachelorette candidate on the hit 70s matchmaking show The Dating Game, where she picked handsome and funny contestant Rodney Alcala. But things then take a horrifying turn when it’s revealed Rodney is actually a psychopathic serial killer.
“I’ve loved this script from the moment I read it. And while I was obviously thrilled to be playing the character of Cheryl, I felt so connected to the story, the tone and the themes around gender and intimacy, that when the opportunity came up to direct the film, I jumped at it,” Anna said in a statement. “It feels meant to be.”
The Dating Game is currently in pre-production and additional casting is still ongoing.
