Louisville first team in as Cards rally to beat Oregon in 5
Louisville faced match point in the fourth set Saturday, but the Cardinals rallied for a 25-23, 23-25, 13-25, 27-25, 15-6 victory over Oregon in the NCAA Tournament regional final.
Co-ACC champion Louisville, which improved to 30-2 with its 12th win in a row, is back in the NCAA national semifinals for the second straight year. The Cardinals will play the winner of Saturday’s later match between ACC co-champion Pittsburgh and Big Ten-champion Wisconsin.
Oregon of the Pac-12 finished its season 26-6.
Louisville hit .217 in the match in the KFC YUM Center in downtown Louisville. Anna DeBeer led with 17 kills, six in the fifth set. Claire Chausee had 13 kills and Aiko Jones 12, including the match-ender.
Oregon hit .250. Mimi Colyer had 17 kills, Brooke Nuneviller had 15 kills and 16 digs and Karson Bacon had 10 kills.
