Report: Spurs-linked attacker has decided to remain at club until summer
Mundo Deportivo have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Memphis Depay has decided to remain at Barcelona until the end of the season.
Depay has struggled for game time at the Camp Nou this season and his current contract at the club runs out next summer (Transfermarkt).
90 min reported last month that the 28-year-old was one of the options on Tottenham’s radar ahead of January.
Spurs’ interest in the Netherlands international was backed up by Sport, who claimed a few days ago that the North London club face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Roma and Juventus for the striker.
However, the report claimed that Xavi Hernandez would prefer to hang on to Depay until the end of the season and added that the former Lyon man is expected to make a decision shortly on his future.
If Mundo Deportivo’s latest update is to be believed, the Dutchman has now made the decision to remain at Barcelona until his contract runs out next summer.
The report states that Galatasaray have made an approach to sign Depay but the player is not considering the Turkish club’s proposal for the moment.

Depay might feel that it is in his best interest to run his contract down and leave as a free agent in the summer so that he would have more options to choose from and could demand a substantial salary. I would be surprised if Spurs considered moving for the 28-year-old, given that Conte has both Kane and Richarlison at his disposal.
