EastEnders fans demand Carter family return after Mick is lost at sea
THERE’s a Mick Carter-shaped hole in Albert Square after the the Vic landlord disappeared at sea.
And now EastEnders viewers are demanding the return of one particular character to help take his place.
With so many twists and exits, it’s easy to lose sight of how big the Carter family really is.
But following her husband Mick’s disappearance, Linda Carter is alone in Walford with Shirley and her children as the only remaining members of their clan.
This has prompted fans of the BBC One soap to ask for the return of her adult children.
“Linda really needs one of her children back permanently”, one viewer penned on a Digital Spy forum.
While many viewers voted for the return of Lee Carter, played by Danny Hatchard, another handful of them decided Johnny needed to come back to the Square.
However, they don’t expect Sam Strike or Ted Reilly to reprise the role they once shared.
“I’d happily see Johnny back with a good recast”, one fan commented.
Another agreed: “Johnny 1 was brilliant, but I understand why he had to be recast. It’s a shame it didn’t work, he had so much potential.”
“Perhaps a third actor could be good if the right one chosen.”
“All the Original Three. Ideally Sam as Johnny but recast to a strong actor”, a soap fan echoed before adding: “as a character I would like to see Johnny get some development and storylines.”
Another viewer wrote: “Lee or Johnny as we haven’t seen them in a while.”
“Wouldn’t mind seeing Johnny as a successful, middle class lawyer. Just don’t have him come in and break up Ben and Callum.”

Linda has already had to deal with her daughter Nancy’s exit following her breakup with Zack Hudson.
Mick’s daughter Frankie Lewis also left the Square recently.
Johnny Carter, on the other hand, was last seen in Walford in 2018 after Ted Reilly took on the role.
The character returned home in 2016, finding out his mother Linda had been raped by Dean Wicks during his absence from the borough.
Prior to his return, Johnny lived in Italy with his former boyfriend Gianluca but he moved to Manchester following their breakup.
Could he come back to support Linda, ahead of a brand new chapter?
