Report: Tottenham star is continuing to hold talks with his former club
Brazilian publication UOL have claimed that Lucas Moura is continuing to have conversations with Sao Paulo regarding a potential move to the club.
Moura is currently out with an injury and Antonio Conte admitted his frustration at the Brazilian’s fitness owes last week, stating that the player is ‘struggling a lot to find a solution’ to the problem (Football London).
Journalist Jorge Nicola said on his YouTube Channel (via Sport Witness) on Monday that the 30-year-old’s injury might actually be a blessing for Sao Paulo as it could improve their chances of signing the player.
He explained that other European clubs are unlikely to make a move for Moura in the summer if he does not feature much for Spurs this season, which might open the door for the Brazilian club to sign him next summer.
UOL have now revealed that the winger is ‘continuing to hold conversations’ regarding a return to his boyhood club.
The publication asserts that both the player and Sao Paulo are keen to work out a solution for the transfer, with Moura having made it clear that he would like to return to his former stomping ground.
However, the report explains that a transfer would not be possible in January and that the Brazilian club would have to wait until next summer to sign the 30-year-old.

I do not think Sao Paulo are favourites to sign Moura next summer as I expect Tottenham to take up the option to extend the winger’s contract, in which case, it would take a fee of around £8m-£12m to sign the player, which the Brazilian club are unlikely to be in a position to afford.
