The Coal India Limited subsidiary, the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), has patented a system that can be used to control fugitive dust emissions from coal mining and processing activities. This system can reduce air pollution and improve ambient air quality, and it also provides noise attenuation which helps in improvement of the aesthetics of the site.
