JP Motorsport Move From Poland To Luxembourg – Without Leaving Germany!
McLaren team JP Motorsport will switch from the Polish flag to Luxembourg for 2023.
The team’s headquarters though will still remain in Erkelenz in the German Rhineland close to the Dutch border.
Team owner Patryk Krupinski grew up, and currently lives in, Luxembourg. Team manager Claude Roth is a Luxembourger as do some of the team mechanics.
“We are very much looking forward to working with the Luxembourg ASN. So far, our cooperation with ACL Sport has been very constructive and we think this is a perfect basis for a successful 2023 season,” says team manager Roth.
In 2023, the racing team will compete in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup and field two McLaren 720S GT3 in the renowned continental GT3 series. Christian Klien and Dean MacDonald as well as team owners Patryk Krupinski and Norbert Siedler will drive the two cars.
No decision has yet been made about possible further programs of the team in the 2023 season.
The switch in nationalities follows on from the move by Jules Gounon to move to an Andorran licence from his prior French licensing. That move reportedly in the wake of a perceived snub by the FFSA following a multi-title-winning 2022 season.
