In Benin, fresh and younger faces have emerged in the country’s political landscape ahead of the January 8th legislative elections. Civil society leaders are running to influence decision making, while also hoping to hold MP's to account who, once elected, often disappear from their electoral district. Smaller parties have helped these newcomers enter Benin’s political scene.
