I woke up to find £98k stolen from my account after my drink was ‘spiked’ – I couldn’t remember even visiting a club
A MAN says he woke to find £98k missing from his bank account – claiming his drink was spiked before the massive theft.
The punter is one of ten men who have lost a whopping £250,000 after visiting Vanity Gentlemen’s Club in Soho, London.
An investigation has now been launched into the club, which faces closure.
The claims have been revealed in a Westminster City Council report, seen by MyLondon, which revealed the thousands that had gone missing from men at the popular club
In one case, a victim woke up in the street near his home with no recollection of visiting the club.
He later discovered that £19k had been transferred from his bank account to a number of people and companies including Vanity.
The council report said: “In the early hours of November 26, 2022, a male became a victim of drink spiking and theft.
“The male recalls entering Vanity and purchasing a drink. The male has no recollection after this point. The victim came around the next day and was in a street near to his home address.
“The victim has checked his bank and found approximately £3,000 payments were taken by Vanity over four transactions.

“There were numerous other transactions made to different people and companies to the approximate value of £16,000.”
The report added: “The victim is of the belief that his drink was spiked or drugged in Vanity.
“The victim has no recollection whatsoever of being in Vanity and had not authorised these transactions.”
PC Steve Muldoon said: “The victim woke up the next day and was in a street near his home address and he subsequently checked Google Maps and found he was at Vanity and then left approximately two hours after arriving.
“He found himself at a location on Google Maps showing a car wash where he was for nearly two and a half hours.
“He was then dropped near his home. Google Maps has this down as a route he was driven.
“The victim does not know how he arrived at these locations or how he has returned home.”
The £3k sum transferred to Vanity from the man’s account put it into overdraft.
In a separate incident, a man woke up in a brothel with £98,000 missing from his account after he visited Vanity, according to police logs.
Another victim had £37,500 taken from his accounts, while two others lost £30k each from their accounts.
Westminster City Council will review the club’s licence on Monday after police asked for it to be shut down.
The venue is expected to submit a large amount of evidence ahead of the hearing, in the hope of keeping its licence and contesting the allegations against it.
