Emmerdale fans heartbroken as Arthur Thomas left humiliated by cruel prank
EMMERDALE fans are heartbroken after Arthur Thomas was left humiliated by a cruel prank.
The vicar’s son recently came out as gay in an emotional storyline.
Though far from the usual fare from soapland, Arthur was met with near universal acceptance with the sweet storyline delighting fans.
This week viewers have watched as he developed a crush on schoolmate Marshall.
In tonight’s episode with the help of April Windsor, he invited Marshall to a party at April’s – but when Marshall arrived, he’d brought two thugs with him.
At first the two bullies insisted they were accepting of Arthur.
And throughout the night Arthur and Marshall grew closer, with Arthur summoning up the courage to tell Marshall that he liked him.
It seemed like Marshall liked him back.
But as Arthur went in for a kiss, Marshall pulled back – and it was revealed they were being watched by the two bullies.
“Urgh, I can’t believe you did that,” one of the bullies shouted from upstairs where they were filming.
“How did you not throw up?”
“Trust me, I nearly did,” shouted back Marshall as he collected the cash for the cruel prank.
Arthur was heartbroken as it dawned on him that Marshall had lead him on as part of a bet to film and humiliate him.
“Smile fo the camera gay boy,” the bullies shouted as Arthur ran off in tears.
Viewers are completely heartbroken for him.
One wrote: “Now that was horrible poor Arthur. #Emmerdale”.
A second said: “Poor Arthur. What an absolutely horrible thing to do to him. #Emmerdale”
