A meeting between Ludhiana Municipal Corporation officials and Mayor Balkar Sandhu was held on Thursday to discuss the projects to be taken up in the next meeting of the Finance and Contracts Committee, which is scheduled to take place within the next two days. After arguments broke out between Senior Deputy Mayor Shyam Sunder Malhotra and MC officials, the last meeting of 2022 was postponed on Thursday. The Mayor also tried to convince Malhotra to attend the FCC meet, but he refused. The meeting on December 23 was postponed after a tussle between the Senior Deputy Mayor and Medical Officer Dr. Vipul Malhotra over revision of charges to be paid to the Cow Shed at Tibba Road. The Senior Deputy Mayor had demanded payment for maintenance of stray cows for the period after the resolution was cleared by the MC House while the officials had claimed they would pay the amount due from the date the agreement gets signed. Senior Deputy Mayor Malhotra said "the meeting will take place in a couple of days at Mayor Camp Office and agenda for the meeting is already distributed." However, regarding issue of payment to the Cow Shed, he refused any details and said the matter was sorted now.
