The Ludhiana ward delimitation is nearing its final stage, and some councillors from the committee that is responsible for it have expressed dissatisfaction with the process that has been adopted. They claim that leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are getting the wards demarcated as they please, and that they will raise objections against the process in the committee's meeting in Chandigarh on Friday. Senior Akali Dal councillor Harbhajan Dang said that they are "really surprised" that officials are not telling them anything about the status of the ward delimitation, and that they will challenge the process in court if anything wrong is found with it. Meanwhile, Senior Deputy Mayor Shyam Sunder Malhotra said that the ward maps are ready with the officials, but they are not disclosing the number of wards or other statistics.
