A 40-day-old Pug went missing from a house in Tannirpantha in Uppinangady Forest Limits on Wednesday. The family suspects that the dog that was in the patio may have been taken away by a Leoparddog brought from Bengaluru. The dog belongs to Kaniyur Gram Panchayat Development Officer Poornima and her husband Ganesh. They had bought the Pug from Bengaluru. Poornima said, "My husband was at home for lunch on Wednesday since there is no one at home during the day, the dog stays in the kennel. My husband offered the dog food and went in, and was about to start having lunch when he heard a sound. He rushed to the door and saw an animal, and out of fear, immediately shut the door in less than five minutes. When he opened the main door of the house again, the dog was missing. We are not sure where the dog vanished, and he is not able to identify the animal. We searched for the dog everywhere, but were not able to find it. It was only later that we got to know that locals had noticed the movement of a Leopard since a few days in the area." Meanwhile, Forest Department officials have visited the house
