Lowe's wants to host your kid's next birthday party

• Lowe's announced this week it is offering birthday parties at 10 stores across the United States.
• Kids will work on projects at the parties, such as race cars, wooden castles, and custom shelves.
• Birthday packages start around $349 per party and vary in price depending on project and upgrades.

If your kid is eager to party with the do-it-yourself crowd, Lowe's has something special for you.

The North Carolina-based home-improvement store chain announced this week it is offering to host kids birthday parties at 10 stores across the United States.

The "Build a Birthday" parties provide children with an experience building miniature projects like wooden castles and race cars with their friends. Parties are available for kids ages 5 and over, and they include safety goggles, aprons, party construction hats, and a Lowe's employee supervising projects. The parties last for 2 hours, and up to 20 kids can attend.

Parents can also pay for upgrades like pizza, drinks, and desserts from Domino's, and Lowe's party favors like t-shirts, water bottles, and backpacks. Birthday party packages start around $349 per party and vary in price depending on types of projects and upgrades.

Jen Wilson, Lowe's senior vice president of enterprise brand and marketing, said in a statement: "Home improvement is about the whole family and that's why we have Weekending at Lowe's events every Saturday at our stores, including our kids' workshops that help us feel connected to our littlest DIYers."

"This launch is a natural extension of that relationship – not only do we want to inspire future builders, but we want DIY – and Lowe's – to be an integral part of family milestones and memories."

 Lowe's will be offering $100 Lowe's gift cards for the first 50 parties booked. Parents can book parties at Lowes.com/buildabirthday.
