The Ludhiana district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rajneesh Dhiman, has criticized the cancellation of the meeting of allparty councillors in connection with the upcoming elections of Ludhiana municipal corporation, calling it a "trick" of the Indian National Congress (INC) government. Dhiman said that like the recent bypolls in the state's Sangrur district, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to suffer a big defeat in Jalandhar district's byelections later this year. Dhiman added that people in Punjab have now made up their minds to hand over the future of the state to the BJP, so that Punjab can be brought on the path of development and peace.
