A slum in the suburbs of Jamshedpur east will soon get power from the Tata Steel Utility and Infrastructure Services Ltd. (TSUISL), the private enterprise. The agreement to this effect was reached between the Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JBVNL) Jamshedpur Division and TSUISL at the meeting attended by Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai on Thursday. A committee under the chairmanship of GM of JBVNL was constituted, involving the representatives of the TSUISL Tata Power and the notified area committee of Jnac to work out a roadmap for providing electricity supply to the Basti people in the Jamshedpur East following a demand made by Rai in the state assembly last year. One of the important aspects of the understanding which was reached between the two organisations is that TSUISL shall provide power to the Golmuri power grid whenever there is shortage of power at the State-run power grid to ensure the residents don't experience power cut problem during the load shedding. The JBVNL Jamshedpur Division General Manager, Shravan Kumar, said that a meeting will be convened to work out the modalities in this regard
