The state monitoring cell of the police department was compromised for a paltry sum of Rs. 20000. This was revealed in the preliminary investigation of the two junior bharuch cops who sold confidential details of the smc personnel to bootleggers. Sources in the smc said that the two cops head constable ashok solanki and constable mayur khuman from the bharuch local crime branch, lcb had shared locations of 15 officers, including smc sp nirlipt rai's reader pi for 700 times within three months. One of the two constables was given a cellphone to trace the bootleggers and other illegal activities, but they instead checked the locations of police officers. Sources said rai said that the two cops were charging an amount of around 20000 for giving location each time the suspect cops supplied goons with information on 760 locations in three months.
