Karnataka is increasing its energy consumption, and it may need to use more than 16,000 megawatts of energy by April 2018. The minister said that the state has plans to set up electric vehicles stations on national and state highways, and also in tourist spots. The energy consumption reached 14,800 megawatts in March last year, but it has now crossed the mark and is expected to reach the 15,500 megawatt and 16,000 megawatt marks. This will mean a profit of Rs. 50 crore for the company.
