A slew of fancy electric vehicles are coming soon — here are 7 of the coolest, from a $400,000 Rolls-Royce to a 200-mph Lucid

Tons of awe-inspiring, luxurious electric cars are on the way for 2023, including the $250,000 Lucid Air Sapphire.

  • 2023 will see a flood of luxury options from brands like Lexus, Lucid Motors, and Rolls-Royce. 
  • These expensive EVs offer lots of range, opulent features, and incredible performance. 
Car companies are doubling down on electric vehicles. That means buyers can expect dozens more models of all kinds in the near future.

And it has the elegant interior you'd expect from a car that costs deep six figures.

It'll offer the option to add thousands of little stars to both the headliner and doors.

The Spectre will have a so-so range of around 260 miles, the company says. But that shouldn't matter much, as most people aren't road tripping in their Rolls-Royces.

But Rolls-Royce won't have ultra-wealthy buyers all to itself. Cadillac is readying a $300,000 EV of its own.

Caddy will start hand-building the Celestiq to customer specifications toward the end of 2023.

It offers stretched-out, dramatic styling that's unlike any other car on the road.

Its interior is packed with five screens, including a 55-inch display spanning the dashboard and a slanted "command center" for the climate settings.

When it comes to performance, the ultra-luxe EV boasts around 300 miles of range, 600 horsepower, and 640 pound-feet of torque.

It'll hit 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, Cadillac says.

EV startup Lucid Motors will soon unleash its most expensive and quickest car to date: the Air Sapphire.

It's an extra-high-performance take on the company's already bonkers Air sedan.

The Air Sapphire will have three motors (as compared to the current model's two) and will churn out an estimated 1,200 horsepower.

Lucid says that makes the car the most powerful sedan in the world.

It'll rocket to 60 mph in less than two seconds and hit 100 mph in under four. Lucid quotes a top speed of more than 200 mph.

The thrills won't come cheap, however. The Air Sapphire will run you $249,000 to start.

That brings us to some of the more attainable luxury EVs coming soon, like the Polestar 3.

It's the third model and first SUV from Polestar, Volvo's electric subsidiary.

It features a sleek interior and a big touchscreen running Google's stunning and easy-to-use operating system.

Other cool tech includes the option for LiDAR sensors, which create a 3D map of a car's surroundings and help with automated driving features. They're extremely rare in the car market today.

It'll start at $83,900.

Mercedes is releasing a new electric family-hauler of its own: the EQE SUV.

It takes direct aim at Tesla's popular Model Y with legendary German build quality and the comfortable ride that Mercedes is known for.

Mercedes says the SUV is good for more than 300 miles. A souped-up AMG version promises a whopping 677 horsepower.

And it offers exciting options like rear-wheel steering (for maneuvering in tight spaces) and a ginormous wall-to-wall screen.

Mercedes already has a handful of electric rides on offer. Lexus is about to launch its first.

The bold-looking RZ 450e SUV arrives at US dealerships in early 2023.

The RZ 450e comes standard with all-wheel drive from two electric motors.

Plus, a panoramic sunroof and a lots of driver-assistance features will be standard equipment.

Range comes in at a somewhat disappointing 220 miles, as estimated by Lexus. Pricing hasn't been announced yet.

Lexus will face competition from Genesis, Hyundai's premium brand, which is preparing to deliver the Electrified GV70.

Just like Hyundai's other EVs, it'll get super-fast charging capability. It'll be able to recharge from 10%-80% in just 18 minutes using a 350-kilowatt charging station, Genesis says.
