The team behind the concept said the floating city is designed to adapt to the shifting climate in coastal cities like Shanghai, New York, and Amsterdam, and it could be expanded to accommodate up to 200,000 people.The 'floating city' would also rise as sea levels change.

According to the World Economic Forum, cities are responsible for generating approximately two-thirds of all greenhouse gas emissions, which are the leading driver of climate change.
In turn, scientists exepct sea levels to continue rising as a warming climate causes icebergs to melt. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change at the United Nations estimates that sea levels could rise 6.5 feet by 2100 and up to 16 feet by 2150. That rise could wash out many coastal cities across the globe, the IPCC said.
All of the platforms would be connected by water and air to government buildings, hospitals, and educational institutions of all levels.The city takes the 'walkable city' idea and pushes it to an extreme.

The island community would also include tourist attractions and lifestyle amenities such as hotels, sports centers, and bookshops.Each community is equipped with several naval docks as well as drone ports.

The project aims to combine sustainability and population density that would allow residents to live a 'healthier lifestyle in connection with natural elements,' according to the project's description.All of the city's farming centers would be required to follow a zero-waste policy.

Each neighborhood on the island would include high-rise and low-rise buildings surrounded by photovoltaic glass for power and vertical gardens for food.The designers want residents to 'rethink the traditional concept of community and society.'

Each living space includes large windows and stellar views of the community as well as modern amenities.Each community would be outfitted with water desalination plants and energy storage devices.

All of the communities would also be organized with a 'framework for living' that includes markets as well as spiritual and cultural hubs, the design team said.The city's interconnected transportation system is something that many cities across the globe are trying to create today.

The project will be unveiled during the Biennale Architettura 2023 conference at the Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello in Venice, Italy, and at other locations, from May 20 to November 26.The living spaces each have excellent views of the community.
