Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arshdalla, a terrorist, made an extortion call to a trader from Ferozepur after the murder of a Jagraon village resident. Two days after 45-year-old Paramjit Singh of Badarke village was shot dead by two assailants who barged into his house on January 5, Ludhiana Rural Police named nine persons in the case, including gangsters Arshdalla and Mandeep Singh aka Dhru Daudhar. Ludhiana Rural Police booked Arshdalla in another case wherein he allegedly made an extortion call to a Jagraonbased trader using a Philippines number. A police officer among the investigators said that not only did Arsh allegedly call a trader in Jagraon area a few days after the murder at Badarke, but he also made a call to a trader in Ferozepur. He said that he came to know about it during the probe into the murder case. The officer also said that both the extortion calls were one to three minutes long and were made through WhatsApp. Police said that Arshdalla's name has surfaced in extortion call cases on previous occasions too.
