The mangaluru city police have removed the names of 783 people from the list of rowdy sheets. The city police had a total of 2305 names and 1522 persons continue to be listed as rowdy sheeters. The decision to delist persons based on good conduct from rowdy sheets was taken under the directions of director general and inspector general of police Praveen Sood and adgp law order Alok Kumarthe officers led by dcp law order Anshu Kumar and dcp crime traffic Bp Dinesh Kumar have examined the cases for nearly two months and a decision to delist them was taken after gathering opinions about their conduct checking the status of court cases age physical disabilities and so on. Last year the city police delisted 1256 persons on the sidelines of the programme. Shashi Kumar told reporters that in the last one year 10 persons have been externed and five have been booked under the goonda act. "Removing names from the rowdy sheet is an opportunity to help those maintaining a clean record for the past several years to get back to the mainstream while we open a rowdy sheet for the offences committed it is also our responsibility to close it if a person has reformed" he said at the programme
