This is a speech given by Ranchi former West Bengal Home Minister Shiv Kumar Banerjee on Monday, in which he claims that the Union government is giving religious color to the education system of the country through the National Education Policy, Nep2020. Banerjee also argues that the government has introduced Vedic Mathematics in Nep which is unnecessary, and that education should be universal and free of religions. Banerjee also claims that the government is intent on rewriting history by renaming important places in the country "There is much emphasis on Hinduism in policies like these, which would segregate the Indian population on communal lines," he claimed. Banerjee also claims that the Nep would not open up employment opportunities for the youths, and urges them to launch a widespread movement against its implementation. In his speech, the National General Secretary of the All India Youth Federation, R.T.M.L.ai, claims that the BJP-led government came to power promising jobs to the youths, but now "we are facing acute shortage of employment opportunities."
