‘Up every couple of hours’ – Spurs star admits he started vs Fulham with a virus
Harry Kane has admitted that he endured a difficult night on Sunday leading up to the clash against Fulham as he was down with a virus.
Kane proved the difference again for Tottenham yesterday as the Lilywhites emerged with a much-needed win from Craven Cottage.
The away side certainly did not have things their own way throughout the encounter and had to defend with their backs to the wall on occasion, with Hugo Lloris called on to make some sharp saves.
Kane produced a moment of quality in the dying stages of the first half, curling the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box, which proved the difference between the two sides on the night.
The goal saw the 29-year-old equal Jimmy Greaves’ record tally of 266 strikes for Spurs and Antonio Conte admitted after the game that the striker had played through a fever, remarking that he was keen to play, given the importance of the game (Football.London).
When asked about Conte’s comments, Kane responded (via Yahoo Sport): “Last night was a tough night, up every couple of hours. A bug or virus. I have three kids, but I have a day off tomorrow.”

This shows how committed Kane is to the cause and how keen he is for Conte’s project at Spurs to be successful. Some players in his position would have mentally checked out, and would simply be waiting for the season to end so that they can make a big move. However, the 29-year-old has proven yet again that he is a model professional, who gives his all for the team.
