Steve Johnson, a standout tackle at Bethel and the Royals' football coach since 1989, was on the losing end of many clashes with legendary St. John's coach John Gagliardi. But he's gradually built his own legend, recently becoming the winningest active coach in Division III and pocketing a national coach of the year honor.
