The district administration checked the functioning of electronic voting machines before the representatives of the various political parties at the collectorate. 500 EVMs were ready for the forthcoming byelection for the Erode East Assembly Segment, but some of them malfunctioned during the exercise. The collector said all the 20 malfunctioned EVMs will be rectified at the earliest.
