On Tuesday, the city of Coimbatore will be filled with 1500 police officers in preparation for Republic Day celebrations. The officers will be stationed at various locations around the city, including the railway station, bus stops, and public places. Commissioner V Balakrishnan will be inspecting the security arrangements, and he will be accompanied by officials from the railway protection force and the government railway police. The city police also has a bomb detection and disposal squad, and eleven police checkposts are on high alert. The parade will take place on Thursday, and the officers will be practicing for it today.
