Ludhiana's 500 students appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main this year. The exam was held in two shifts, morning and evening. There were 90 multiple choice questions based on physics, chemistry, and maths. The students were required to attempt a total of 75 questions, 25 from each subject. Deepinder Singh, a resident of Civil Lines, said that he is aiming for the Indian Institute of Information Technology to pursue a bachelor's in computer science. When asked about the paper, Deepinder claimed that the physics portion was tough, but chemistry and maths were overall moderate. Sheetal, another candidate, said that she has been preparing for the exam for the last two years through offline coaching. It was challenging for her to attempt the whole paper.
