The BJP is strengthening its presence in the Vokkaliga heartland by appointing a new revenue minister and district minister. R Ashoka will replace K Gopaliah Ashoka, who has served as the district minister in Mandya since 2019. Ashoka had previously served as the minister for Shivamogga and Gopalaiah was given charge of Mandya.
