Two staff members of a private nursing home in Jamtara were arrested and sent to judicial custody on Monday for allegedly raping a 40-year-old woman who was attending to her husband after his surgery at the health facility. The police confirmed the arrests, but said that prima facie probe doesn't indicate rape. The incident took place on Sunday night at a private nursing home under the town police station area. The complainant in her statement said "on Sunday night, these two began teasing her after finding her husband asleep later they raped her in turns. They also threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone." On Monday, she informed her relatives about the incident who later thronged the nursing home with other villagers and resorted to vandalism. Jamtara SP Manoj Swargiary on Tuesday said "although the accused have been forwarded to jail on the basis of the preliminary investigation, did not suggest that the complainant was actually raped or gangraped, the medical examination report is awaited though."
