BBC Breakfast in another hosting shake-up as Jon Kay missing from show
BBC BREAKFAST has been the subject of another hosting shakeup as Jon Kay was missing from the show on Wednesday.
The journalist, 53, typically presents the flagship programme alongside Sally Nugent, 51.
However, as the show came on air at 6am this morning Jon was noticeably absent.
He was replaced by the show’s business presenter Nina Wahurst, 42, who joined Sally on the red sofa.
It meant BBC Breakfast had an all-female lineup on Wednesday as weather presenter Carol Kirkwood brought viewers the weather.
Both Nina and Sally did not address Jon’s departure from the show as they presented the day’s headlines.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday’s show Sally left Jon red-faced with a swipe at his makeup in the middle of an interview.
Midway through the show, they were joined by Young Masterchef 2023 winner Keziah Whittaker and her mum to discuss her recent triumph.
Keziah admitted she “wasn’t prepared for that scenario at all” when it came to winning.
“And you talked about, you’ve got special anti, erm, what’s it called? Mascara that doesn’t run?”
Keziah and Sally both said: “Waterproof!” as Jon claimed not to know.
Sally then asked cheekily: “Is that not what you’re wearing?”
Looking a bit pink, Jon replied: “No it’s not! Or, I don’t know?” before turning back to Keziah and saying: “But it paid off, right?”
