In one of her most recent clips, which has quickly racked up over 15,000 views, the bargain hunter revealed her tin trick that she uses to save money on groceries.

While she claimed it might be cheeky, she said it is worth trying.

The mum explained that when shopping “if you don’t ask, you don’t get.”

She said: “Wonky tins – obsessed with doing this.

“You know you get the regular yellow sticker section, well these are not included in them.

“When you’re buying tins of soup and essentials for your store cupboard, have a good rummage through.

“In Sainsbury’s, these are not necessarily at the front and we go through all the tins of soup and find the dented ones.

“If you find a dented one without a yellow sticker on, be cheeky, go up to customer services.

“Say ‘this can is dented, can I have it for a cheaper price please?’ and they’ll knock it down.

“That one was 90p, reduced to 59p.

“Be a bit cheeky, go and ask them.”

The savvy shopper only posted her hack a day ago, but it has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed almost 500 likes.

However, TikTok users were convinced with her hack and others revealed that they worked in supermarkets and wouldn’t recommend people trying this tip.

One person said: “I would but would never be able to live it down if they refused!!”

Another added: “I work for a supermarket and we’ve had to stop doing this because people damage stuff on purpose” to which the woman explained “Definitely not recommending sabotage.”

A third commented: “I hated when customers did this” to which the social media user replied “Why, it makes no odds to the shop or the staff, especially if they tend to reduce dented tins as the norm.”

Meanwhile, another user claimed: “I worked in a supermarket and we would say no we will hold that and offer the customer another one lol. Too many chancers.”

Whilst someone else posted: “Dented tins are fine if you use the food quickly – they don’t store well because the tin can start corroding.”
