Report: Spurs give green light for summer signing to head out on loan
Tottenham Hotspur have granted Djed Spence permission to head out on loan for the remainder of the season, according to Football.London.
The 22-year-old joined Tottenham from Middlesbrough during the summer after impressing while on a season-long loan at Nottingham Forest where he played a key role in helping Steve Cooper’s side secure promotion to the Premier League.
His time in north London has not gone exactly to plan having only 41 minutes across all competitions this season (transfermarkt) which came in the wake of Spurs head coach Antonio Conte admitting on July that the decision to sign the right wing-back was a club signing, rathe than his own (talkSPORT).
The report claims that Spence is attracting interest from Premier League clubs with Brentford and Leicester City among those who are keen to secure his services for the rest of the campaign, while Spurs are rejecting any offers of a permanent deal or such an option within the loan agreement.

With a deal to bring Sporting’s Pedro Porro to Tottenham looking to be more likely to happen following today’s meeting in Lisbon, it makes sense for Spence to head out on loan or he will soon be fourth choice in his position at the club.
A strong end to the campaign out on loan will help salvage what has been a frustrating season for the defender.
