EastEnders shock as dying Lola Pearce makes a drastic decision on her wedding day
EASTENDERS fans are in shock after Lola Pearce made a decision on her wedding day.
The hairdresser – who is played by actress Danielle Harold in the BBC soap – is dying from a brain tumour and only has months left to live.
In tonight’s episode she was due to marry Jay Brown.
After suffering from headaches and nosebleeds, Lola decided to take a detour to the wedding and call into the hospital to get checked out.
But as Jay and the other guests waited for the Lola to arrive, she was too busy in hospital.
She had been convinced that her wedding stress was actually her brain tumour rapidly advancing on her.
“Today just makes it all feel real,” she said.
“I’d been hoping for some sort of miracle cure, or that I’d get better. But I’m not going to.”
Kim tried to talk her round and insist that she had to get up and get to the registry office to get married.
But Lola couldn’t.
And she made a shocking decision that devastated fans.
“This isn’t the end Kim, this is the beginning of the end for me,” Lola said.
“How could I do it to Jay when I don’t know how long I’ve got left?
“Kim I’m sorry, I can’t. There ain’t going to be a wedding. I can’t marry Jay.”
Fans are in shock that she called off the wedding.
One wrote: “Yes you can Lola! now get your beautiful self out of that hospital and go marry the man you love! He loves you no matter how long you have left!”
A second posted a broken heart emoji and said: “The reality of the brain tumour just made it real for lola it’s the beginning of the end.”
And another even urged: “Lola, you have to marry Jay, he’ll be at such a loss if you don’t. It’s what they planned!
“At least it’s something special in the time they’ve got left, & they’re a couple anyway + he already knows how serious her tumour is.”
